Iconic in stature and in essence, Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr. has carved out a permanent place in musical history. Undeniably, the rapper, producer, actor, entrepreneur, coach, husband and father affectionately called Snoop Dogg, has performed the most unique balancing act that hip hop has ever witnessed. Never short on vision, drive or ambition, the sharp talking wordsworth has managed to redefine and reinvent himself over the course of his fifteen year career, each time revealing a distinctive cache from the depths within. His rhythmic cadences are classic in nature and his demeanor is as laid back and effortless as the brand extensions he has created for himself.

The versatile musical dichotomy is always at the heart of each Akon album. It could be a metaphor for the man himself. On one hand there is an extrovert whose tireless devotion is entertaining crowds and fan interaction has caused both adorations and misunderstandings. On the other, a serious businessman who has quickly built an empire that includes a record label, fashion line and charity foundation. In short, an open artist who regrets nothing, but constantly is learning from past experiences.

“I’m looking forward to the day when MCs are rapping again,” Kardinal Offishall opines. “Right about now, it seems like people are really not paying attention to lyrics, which doesn’t make any sense to me in this hip-hop thing.”

illScarlett is like the Voltron of rock bands - go pop-punk, go ska, go reggae, go modern rock - clickity clik and clankety clank and it comes together in the form of a giant-killer-robot-like debut release "All Day With It". Therein, you'll find radio-approved rockers like the lead single "Nothing Special", up-stroked reggae-pop with soaring choruses like "Life Of A Soldier" and beach-worthy chill-outs like "Paradise Burning". You'll wanna listen to the whole record though - it's perfect summer listening.

illScarlett are currently in the studio with Robert Carranza in Hollywood, a three-time Grammy-winning producer and engineer based in Los Angeles. Carranza has worked with notable acts such as Jack Johnson, Mars Volta, Beck, Ozomatli, Mindless Self Indulgence, and Matt Costa among others. The new album is set to release on September 29, 2009 throughout North America.

Arkells sing “I ain’t going to fear the New Year, no,no…” and this year, they are putting that mandate into motion. Formed in 2006 in Hamilton, ON, the band recorded and released their debut EP “Deadlines” in 2007. The six songs bring the listener rock as it should be; catchy, raw and unbridled. Arkells have succeeded in blending traditional blues hooks mixed with rock heavy riffs, and a hint of soul on the side. From the strum of the first chord, the music ignites into a fury of addictive and muscular cadence, taking hold of the listener in all the right ways.

With irresistible melodies, churning rhythms and thought provoking lyrics, songs like "Second Chance," "Sleepless (Never Let Her Go," and "You'll Make It" (about the world's struggle for self-improvement) invite comparisons to some of Faber Drive's favorite bands - U2, The Police, Def Leppard, Jimmy Eat World, Stryper. But while some of the musical elements are familiar, "SEVEN SECOND SURGERY" is refreshing, expressive and life-affirming.

My name is LIGHTS. I'm a small girl who dwells in Toronto. I make music with a computer and a couple sweet synths. I also play whatever other sound makers I can get my pincers on. Making music has been my crutch/drug/vent/vice for my whole life. Most of what you hear starts, and is often finished, in my room (wherever that may be, I relocate like a hermit crab). When I write songs I think about how my music makes people feel, and I hope that when it goes into your ears you feel happy. Not sexy happy but apple pie happy. If I'm sad then the last thing I want is to be made even more sad by music. If my music could be drawn I would picture it like a comic, with simple border lines and bright colors. On first glance there is a nice composition, but upon closer inspection there is a deeper story.

At the heart, Ten Second Epic’s defining characteristics are their honesty and commitment to hard work. Fusing an underground edge with mainstream melodies, the latency is the newest breed of band that will make you stand up and notice with blistering riffs and soaring melodies. Hailing from Maple Ridge BC, the Latency was formed two years ago when guitarist Ryan Stead and bass player Matthew Gendron met singer/guitarist Brandon Lehti at a local show that featured each of their respective bands on the bill. With all but one of the members just turned 18, they display a maturity and technicality well beyond their years.

Blending the timeless tastiness of classic synth-pop to the intensity and dynamics of modern punk and the irrefutable rump mobilization of the recent dance-rock insurgence, the New Cities are primed to bring their own form of urban renewal to the Canadian pop-music scene and beyond as their first single, “Dead End, Countdown,” hits radio in February, with the full album set to hit in May.

The musical captured the spirit of the original Blues Brothers movie and paid homage to Chicago's rich history of blues, gospel and traditional soul music while throwing in Jake and Elwood Blues into the mix. It's where it all started - it's where the Blues Brothers began and the show has since taken on a life of its own.

This live stage musical combines the hits from the original movie as well as the five popular albums put out by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The musical is presented by the John Belushi Estate and Judy Belushi Pisano.

A wise man once wrote that it was the fate of modern man to live with death from adolescence until it arrives. The only life giving assurance to this human state is to accept the terms of death, to live with it as immediate danger, to set out on the uncharted journey into rebellion, to encourage the psychopath in oneself. One is a rebel or one conforms. At one time in his life, Ko had chosen to live with immediate danger, and this state is vividly reflected in his music.

Up to this point, Canadian singer/songwriter Graham Greer has been best known as the lead singer/guitarist/songwriter of Barstool Prophets, who toured Canada and the US through much of the 1990's in support of one 1993 indie release and two major-label releases while signed to Mercury/Polygram (1995's "Crank" and1997's "Last of the Big Game Hunters").
